AzHFMA 2019 Message

As we conclude an impelling 2018 in the healthcare industry and begin a new year, we will continue to drive toward population health advancements in 2019.  HFMA national and our local HFMA Arizona Chapter are focusing education on helping to succeed in healthcare reform.

The national HFM January 2019 magazine contains articles such as: Succeeding in industry disruption by empowering consumers, New approaches & technology for improving cost performance, and Creating PSAs that promote a meaningful hospital-physician bond.  Locally, we are partnering with The Hertel Report for our 3rd annual One Day Value Based Seminar which will be held Wednesday, March 13th at the San Marcos Resort in Chandler, AZ.  This year our theme is combining technology and institutional will to identify ways to meet the quadruple aim.  Similar to prior years, we will have health systems, ACOs/VBNs, health plans, ancillary providers, and others in attendance which will provide for excellent discussion and networking!

On Sunday, January 13th the 21st Annual HFMA Western Region Symposium will begin in Las Vegas, Nevada which is being organized by 13 HFMA Chapters including the Arizona Chapter.  Relevant presentations will focus on: Robotics, cognitive automation and artificial intelligence in revenue cycle; Using blockchain technology to help shape the future of healthcare; and payment variations in commercial health plans.

This new year will be another exciting year with the advancement of healthcare reform.  As each of us utilize HFMA as a resource for education, we will continue to make our personal contribution toward success in the quadruple aim!
